Research

I am a research assistant at the KIT and work in the Geophysics group at GPI. I received my PhD in Geophysics from the Free University of Berlin, Germany, in 2016. After postdoctoral research at the GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam (Germany; 2016-2019), the University of Minnesota (USA; 2019) and the British Antarctic Survey (UK; 2019-2022), I joined the KIT in March 2022. My research focuses on understanding how the earth works on different scales, ranging from tectonic deformation (e.g. in Central Asia or the Adria region) to glacier processes (e.g. in Antarctica). For these studies, I apply and develop a variety of seismological methods, including tomography, shear wave splitting and seismic source studies. This research helps to increase knowledge on Earth's evolution and potential current and future geo-hazards.
