This area is addressed to all former employees, students, alumni and guests of the Geophysical Institute.
After 46 years of thriving history the first GPI alumni meeting took place in Karlsruhe on May 15th, 2010. Finding alumni and getting in touch with them to send out invitations for the first alumni meeting in 2010 proved to be difficult and took up a lot of time. In order to avoid similar problems in the future and to allow the Geophysical Institute in Karlsruhe to easily stay in touch with alumni for occasional announcements and information exchange, it was decided to continue maintaining the mailing list which is hosted at the KIT.
The web interface allows you to subscribe to or unsubscribe from the list, you can change subscription options or browse the archive with old messages. If you face any problems, you can easily get in touch with the owner(s) of the mailing list via email or simply send an email to the Geophysical Institute - support is never far away.
If you know of other GPI alumni that haven't heard about the mailing list yet, we would appreciate if you could inform them about the alumni area of the GPI web site and the mailing list itself. Alternatively, you could also pass these information on to us via e-mail and then we will get in touch with those alumni. Our goal is to steadily enlarge the community of GPI alumni, allowing us to celebrate an even bigger reunion at the next alumni meeting.
Of course such a mailing list is only useful as long as it is reasonably up-to-date. If you relocate or change your email address we therefore kindly ask you to inform the Geophysical Institute about changes (a simple email will do), or change the subscription on gpi-alumni yourself via web interface.
